Is there a way to copy a file from CD in a way similar to the CPYFRMTAP
command?

The question is asked because I see it as one possible solution to a
logistical problem. Other solutions willingly considered.

The problem is I need to send an AS400 file on a CD. Until recently I
mastered CDs as SaveRestore libraries but one file in the library will
be beyond the capacity of CD. A DVD is a solution that works great but
most who will get this have only CD readers. There are no PCs available
for FTP solutions.

I can send two CDs each containing a library. One of the libraries would
contain a file that has the remaining records of a downsized file which
is on the other CD. Once restored, they can use CPYF to simply add the
remaining records to the end of the downsized file. This works fine but
that solution requires having double the disk space for the remaining
records. Some of the older Iseries boxes suffer from a lack of disk
space.

So, if the copy of records could come direct from the CD, extra disk
space would not be needed.

I'm thinking but haven't had the time to try to mess with Links and
paths thereof to create one (to a file on the CD) that I could point
CPYFRMPCD to (Copy from PC document). CPYFRMSTMF doesn't seem to have
the ADD records parm whereas CPYFRMPCD does.

Thanks for thinking about this
