You may want to consider taking an operators job for a while. This is what i had to do for 18 months till end of 2005. Then I found a job that I was suited for. I did other ops work in the past as well. It is harsh, but it at least gives you some experience, and you never know what could develope. personally I think programming will continue to offer less work, whilest Admin will be strong.

I have been having a little problem finding work. I started in 2000, worked for a manufacturer who in a years time promptly got on the H1b wagon sponsored and hired off the lottery boat for savings. In 2001 I find myself overwhelmed by the influx of AS/400 Programmers out of work with much more experience than myself at the time which put me in a professional limbo. Found some consulting contracts over a period of 5 years ending with a one month contract ending in January 2006. With all the given holes on my employment record I find it next to impossible to convince any prospective employer of my expertise. I can and have done good work for the clients I have come across. But when employers see my resume they shy away because of the gaps which vary from 3-6 months. I have good references from the last job I had. I even passed a AS/400 RPG prove it exam six months ago in the top 80% percentile. I just need one need one chance to prove myself to a company, any company, preferably Warehouse Retail/Distribution. -- This is the Midrange Jobs: Postings & Discussion (MIDRANGE-JOBS) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-JOBS@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-jobs or email: MIDRANGE-JOBS-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
