TSM is so vital that we used the SPENDMONEY command to get it's own 3582, 
card, etc.  So the ability to share a tape drive that even with a kick 
butt 3582 takes a day to run doesn't appeal to us.  If we did, we could 
probably figure out a way to share it also.  I noticed on our Linux lpar 
that any tape drive we configure in the i5/os lpar that hosts it shows up 
in Linux.  Heck if I create a virtual optical drive it shows up.
