Fair enough. A prior post mentioned it's a linux partition solution. With the increasing use of linux on the i/i5/iSeries, I have a question about 3rd party hardware compatibility. Assuming there are linux drivers and/or kernel patches, can you use 3rd party PCI cards with a linux partition ? In other words, even if i5/OS doesn't recognize the hardware, will the HMC still allow you to assign it to a linux/AIX partition ? If not, then the "i" remains a closed architecture system.
