Walden, Why not just invoke STRSQL and put in your SQL or bypass having to fool with CL and its compiling and use REXX and SQL or build yourself some DB2 Query Manager stock queries for SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE (whatever you need) and modify those as needed and call them by invoking the QM CMD or interactively? This rather then go out of the OS to invoke a UNIX like environment to call DB2 back in the native OS. Perhaps I'm missing something. Take care, Dave
