STRSST 1 to start a service tool 7 for HW service manager 5 for SPCN Enter to continue F6 to disable battery checking Keep in mind your SRC won't go away until you remove and reinsert the battery. Remove it, wait a minute or so, and then re-insert. I can vouch that this works on a 5073-style tower. YMMV on other models. -- Justin C. Not being an SST expert, how would one turn off battery checking? I'm reminded of something that happened many years ago with our late, lamented D02. The system started buzzing, not long before we moved from Lake Forest to Costa Mesa. When we powered it up in the new office (even as the remodeling was continuing around it), I tracked the buzz down to the battery backup module. Since an unexpected shutdown of that box was of little consequence, I simply pulled the module out permanently. Kept the cable as a souvenir; it may still be around here someplace. -- JHHL -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
