We are running V5R3 on a 520. I will look into this for a possible
solution.

How about having them both go to a NTP server? If your iSeries is V5R1
there might be a little dancing to do to make the software clock and
hardware clock agree, but this gets even better in v5r3, IIRC. If you
have an earlier iSeries, there is an SNTP (simple network time protocol)
client from ConsultLine that is not expensive. And there are all kinds
of such clients for Windows out there. Just point them at the Naval
Observatory or other NTP server.
