Jim,

The quality of the front covers is so bad on the 570's that IBM just 
doesn't use them in the lab.  You can't open the CD drive with the cover 
on (without torquing it).  Also, the silly attention light on the 570's is 
only visible with the front cover off and a body strategically placed no 
greater than four inches away from the LED (not the misleading indicator 
that looks like the attention light on the 520 that is so bright that you 
could tie flies by it).
