Rick, What's the .NET code look like (can you post the snippet). Are you using raw Socket objects, or a TcpClient on top of that? Also, does the timer really start right before you do the send() or does it include the time to build the string to send? When I hear about long run times and strings I always think that someone might need to use a StringBuilder where they have a string since strings are immutable. -Walden
