The problem is that CL has no date data type.

The easiest way to do this is to do it in RPG IV instead of CL.

If you absolutely have to use CL.  Then switch to CLLE and see about
using the ILE CEE APIs, Convert Date to Lilian Format (CEEDAYS) and
Convert Lilian Date to Character Format (CEEDATE).

Convert your date to Julian, subtract the number of days, then convert
to the format you need.  Sorry, I don't have any examples.

CHGVAR VAR(&PRVDAT) VALUE(&PRVDAT#)

When I run the job on 0501 the pgm returns the date -3 as
20060498.  How would I have to change the code so that it

returns 0429? Any examples appreciated. Thanks
