1) Would you be in favor of IBM Open Sourcing RPG ?

If I thought there was a cat in hell's chance of it happening - maybe.
Unless the whole code-gen was to be rebuilt you not only need IBM to release
the source of the compiler but the details of the w-code interface which is
considered (or was) virtually a trade secret.   

2) If IBM were to Open Source RPG .... So what name would you give it?

Gecko.  Chameleon would be the "right" answer - but that is taken - but a
gecko _looks_ like a chameleon! (I think this was Barbara Morris' idea).
