Yes, there is some additional load because of journalling.  Our number of 
transactions are relatively small.  I suppose a casino that logs a 
transaction everytime someone pulls a slot handle might be a different 
matter.  But even they are doing journalling because of the remote 
journals often used for mirroring software for HA solutions.  As much as 
I've tried to encourage journalling stuff here there is some resistance 
due to unknown performance concerns.  Now their excuse for the last few 
years is that one of these (days, years, etc) we will be getting a HA 
solution and that will set up all the journals then.
