Paul, How many times did you (or anyone else) get called and if you got called more then once did you contact Ralph (or HQ) and have yourself removed and after contacting Ralph multiple times were you still called? While I will acknowledge that you can't easily hit reply on a telemarkting call, as easily as you can on an email. You have been a volunteer in COMMON for many many years, and have attended multiple conferences. Read my email, I didn't make a comment on the nature of the advertisement, I commented on the number of times I received an email, the number of times I asked to be removed, a confirmation that it would never happen again, and then 2 days later another email. This was the SECOND time that these events occurred. I don't think I am calling the kettle black. While I am on the COMMON Board of Directors, I am not sending out emails on COMMON's upcoming conference in Minneapolis next week, I am not receiving requests to remove someone from an email blast, and then emailing them AGAIN. If that were the case, then I would be the proverbial Pot calling the kettle black. I will acknowledge that COMMON is not perfect in its marketing, but the whole thing that pissed me off was asking to be removed after receiving multiple emails over the course of 2 days, asking to be removed, and then getting another email. I think that is quite different.
