We use VLAN on all of our LPARed systems, it works great.
Our largest 870 has 11 partitions and we use a matrix of VLAN connections.
No problems with the managing P0 partition.
This is taking a lot of traffic off of our LAN.

Subject: Anyone using Virtual Ethernet between partitions ?

Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anyone was using Virtual Ethernet between partitions ?
I've been doing some reading on this (and see it is not recommended to set
one up on your managing partition per IBM) and am interested in trying this
between our "production" partition and our eCommerce partition to speed
things up.

Thanks !
