Actually it is no longer that hard to change a group profile back to a normal user profile. There are two ways to cause a user profile to become a group profile. The first is to just use it as a group profile or a supplemental group profile. The second is to give it a unique Group ID number (GID). So to change a group profile back into a normal user profile all you need to do is change all its group members to not use it as their group profile or supplemental group.
