Subject: Restart AS/400 at a Later Time after Power Down?

Hi All,

In a few weeks the local power company will be testing our lines that
come into our facilities. To that end, the power will be down for about
6 - 8 hours while the testing is being performed.

We do have our UPS systems to maintain the servers in the event of a
power outage as well as a backup generator that kicks in 11 seconds
after loss of power. However, we do know that this power will be down
during this time frame, so I was wondering if there is an option in the
PWRDWNSYS command (or any other command) in the AS/400 that will allow
us to power down the system, wait for a specified period of time, and
then power back up? I had a look through the options, but I didn't
specifically see anything that would lead me to believe this can be
done.

For example, if the power was out between 10:00am - 5:00pm, could we
invoke a PWRDWNSYS at 9:30am, have it wait and then power back up at
6:00pm? Assume that the AS/400 will have constant power to it (either
through the UPS or generator).

Thanks,

Brian.
