I'm almost certain that's the port I'm using, and the ASCII/EBCDIC issues are taken care of in it. Unfortunately, it does have an annoying habit of writing lots and lots of CPF9898 messages that are completely unnecessary when MINIZIP is being called programmatically, with no apparent way to turn them off.
And what little directory recursion might be involved (theoretically, there shouldn't be any, because the application shouldn't be creating any additional levels of subdirectories) is taken care of in my front-end, along with some other futzing around that doesn't appear relevant to the matter at hand.
The odd part is that I set up the file and directory on one of our development boxes, and there wasn't any problem at all.
