Hi Simon, The 8100 seems to be benign delimeter. I just tested it swapping a 8680 in a series of cont-entry fields and it just failed to word wrap but worked. I'm sure it is a delimiter for dynamic adjustments. They probably picked 81 b/c it's the first valid FCW that you can put 8100. OTOH, an FCW of X'0000' will cause your job to sign off :) From what I've seen especially with the cont-entry fields they had to provide some sort of way to dynamically deal with varying field structures. Dump a save screen of a screen of cont-entry fields and compare to fixed formatted screens and it is delimted similarly(that is markers to determine where the stream start/stops). I think cont-entry was a royal pain to retro-fit. Besides what else could one think with the whole EUI mess! Thad
