Scott--The original questioner was trying to understand a snippet of code that did a Multiply by 1 to convert a field with decimals to a field without decimals, half adjusting on the way.
I asked if Mult * 1 or Add + 0 would be faster.Joe did a test and determined that an eval without other operation would be fastest.
To -really- waste time without doing anything, we had a consulting company need to add a delay to a program while a waist-mounted printer did its thing. They put the program in a loop, counting to 5 or 10 million.
