You want a GUI client app, then you need a GUI client. How else could it possibly work? Really, the UI of the server console doesn't matter at all when it comes to providing a GUI client app. The i5 is similar to UNIX in that the server console is not natively GUI. Even with Windows, you could conceivably stop Windows from starting the GUI w/o effecting any client apps.
