also check www.eserverusergroup.org for a LUG near you...

This is really the first time we've seen this good of a coordinated effort to use the LUGs in the announcement function. I'm REALLY happy with the way the planning is going on this.

According to the LUG website linked from COMMON'S website, there is a
LUG Raleigh and one in Hickory. I will probably attend the announcement
in Hickory because it is closer to me. I talked to my manager today and
he indicated a pretty good chance of me going to the IBM Technical
Conference in May. I'll have to wait and see.

The LUG would be the place to start. In the hour or two that most LUG's

have for meetings, all that they can do is give an overview of what's
new.

COMMON, though, already has sessions scheduled specific to V5R4, such as

CL enhancements and iSeries Navigator. Plus the best part is that
there'll be folks there that know v5r4 (developers) and early migrators
(both beta and fish food).

I thought I read somewhere, Joel, that the Charlotte LUG died. Is there

a resurgence? If not, having lived in Charlotte for several years, my
best guess is that Atlanta would be the closest for you. Unless
Wilmington has one (been there, done that, survived). Oh, almost forgot

about Triad in Greensboro. They always have a good show; at least the
times I went there.
