I've never tried installing client access on a server. From what I experienced Client Access needed to be installed on each PC. If changing the application is an option you might try using a different data provider. I know you can instantiate data transfers from a winders application by setting a reference to IBM AS/400 iSeries Access for Windows ActiveX object library(cwbx.dll) What a mouthful. It might contain the IBMDA400 provider information, but I don't know for sure. But I still think you need it installed on each computer. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Odom Sent: Monday, January 30, 2006 1:35 PM To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Installing only IBMDA400 provider on a server Is there a way to install the IBMDA400 provider on a Windoz server and not install all or most of IBM iSeries Client Access for Windows? I have an application server that contains an application that needs to use IBMDA400 for ADODB access to my iSeries but I don't want the folks using that application server to have all the "goodies" of Client Access. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Dave Odom Arizona
