Rick: Charles gives one good direction to look. Also try \\as400.ip.address instead of the server name, and try both the NetServer host name (e.g., QS123456) and the DNS host name. BTW, I didn't see mention of what VPN product/technology you're using. I have no problem with mine (after setting the gateway properly, that is -- amazing how one setting can make such a mess).
