If all printers, there may be one or two causes.First, there's a system value (QSTRPRTWTR) which says whether or not to start print writers at IPL. Then, based upon that value (if = '1') the startup procedure (usually QSTRUP in QGPL, but defined by another system value (QSTRUPPGM)) has to actually start them.
However, I thought all of that came pre-coded in the QSTRUP procedure shipped with the system.
I know of no reason why the '2' option on WRKOUTQ would start the writer. * Jerry C. Adams *iSeries Programmer/Analyst B&W Wholesale Distributors, Inc.* * voice 615.893.8633x152 fax 615.995.1201 email jerry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:jerry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Tomasz Skorża wrote:
Hi girls and guys I have difined a few printer devices and I have a problem with this device after each IPL.Devices are setting as "start during IPL" And during IPL devices are started (and teoretically device has status ONand writer is working/is started) but printer not printing. When I use WRKOUTQ and option 2 - it getting started. Second solution - is stop writer, delete device and again create it. But why it not working directly after IPL? Regards Tomek V5R3, model 520
