What are you trying to do, post data from one file to another, or what? 
Here are some sample files.  What should it end up as?

select * from x1
....+....1....+....2....+...
MYCHAR                 MYDEC
  A                     1.00
  B                     2.00
  C                     3.00
********  End of data  *****

select * from x2
