The emulator has to support at least certain minimal
TN5250e features. It requests a specific device name in
negotiations, and the host answers whether the device name
is available. To my knowledge, the only way to have a
series of device names is for the emulator to generate one
by trial-and-error. (At least, if I knew of one, I'd have
put it in ours, which does support device name
negotiations.)
