It understands the notion of a codepage, but Figured it out with the help of the Formsprint people (which is what I use to create the pdf files). The version of Formsprint I have uses the CPY command internally when generating a pdf. The pdf was generated as a regular data file, then used CPY to copy it to the IFS. The CPY was causing Formsprint people issues because it resulted in the following in the display attributes screen: Size of extended attributes . . . . . : 109 which doesn't get copied to qntc properly. It has to have a value of 100, not 109. Formsprint had so much trouble with the CPY command that they wrote their own routine. They're sending the latest version of Formsprint which will fix it. Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't even know what 'size of extended attributes' is. <g>
