Why use FTP?  Try this on your iSeries:
WRKLNK '/QNTC/xxx'
where 'xxx' is the name of the PC running your MSSQL.  The result should 
be a list of the shares defined on that PC.  From there you should be able 
to do a CPY command to copy the data from your iSeries to the PC.
