Tom, The SQL Server 2000 server and client install a wizard for importing and exporting data to SQL Server. This allows anything that ODBC can connect to, including csv and other text files to be uploaded to SQL. It also allows an easy connection to Excel and Access. You can find it on the Start menu under Microsoft SQL Server labeled "Import and Export Data" Jim -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of qsrvbas@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 09, 2006 1:13 PM To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Moving a text file to a physical file midrange-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > 3. Brian: I'm curious about whether or not a delimited file can be imported into SQL Server at all. If you had a similar file on your SQL Server system, would you be able to do it? It seems odd that there is no MS support for this, so I'm surprised you can't just use whatever MS provides and import through a network drive.
