However this has some "anomolies" with V5R3.  Some people even prefer to

rolling their own using API's.  Scott Klement has some great examples on

this with RPG.

You could create a share on your SQL server, and use
CPY OBJ('/MyIfsDir/MyFile.txt') 
    TOOBJ('/QNTC/MySQLServer/ItsDirectory/MyFile.txt')
And then use 
RUNRMTCMD CMD('PostIt.exe') 
          RMTLOCNAME(MYSQLSERVER *IP)
