Hi Rob, No, we specify the default of KEYFILE(*NONE) on both the RGZPFM with allow cancel = *YES and Lock = *SHRUPD and the second RGZPGM with allow cancel = *NO and Lock = *EXCL. The first reorg can take many hours depending on the file size, but the second 'exclusive' reorg usually takes just minutes. I'll check with IBM about this behavior and see if my understanding of how this is working is correct. Did you, by any chance, run your RGZPGM with RGZPFM KEYFILE(*RPLDLTRCD)? Because I think that if you use *RPLDLTRCD that is exactly what is supposed to happen. Why would anyone want *RPLDLTRCD instead of just getting rid of deleted records? To reserve the space on disk that the file grows to on a periodic basis so no one else uses it? Rob Berendt
