No!

Wal-Mart is a mainframe shop, and btw, I saw an interview or an article recently where a Wal-Mart executive indicated that they would NEVER outsource any of their IT functions, because they consider them to be very proprietary intellectual property...

On the other hand, they don't have to pay their IT people much in Bentonville...

I look for them to step in during another huge disaster like Katrina and
fill a supply chain need that the government can't handle (that's already
been proven). They'll probably perform very well and end up becoming a
homeland security dept. But that's just paranoia talking... ;)

They are an iSeries shop, aren't they?

Wal-Mart has a goal of becoming 25% of the USA GDP. They currently are
a bit over 1%. Their plans include Insurance and Real Estate.

And why should we hold businesses to ethical standards that we ourselves
won't adhere to? You think the average consumer doesn't know that a bulk

of the stuff at Wal Mart comes from China or somewhere?

I agree with that. And I think it also applies to consumers shopping at
Wal-Mart. Most people will purchase a product at the lowest price. And
apparently 75% of the people think that is at Wal-Mart. That does not
mean they endorse outsourcing or other unethical business practices.

dont blame the individuals, they will take whatever job is offered to

them.

If someone offered any of us a job working abroad for much better money

and

much better conditions for our families, how likely is it that we going

to

turn it down?

Blame the companies looking to turn a fast buck by throwing loyalty out

the

window and dumping their existing workers and chucking them on the scrap
heap
