Yep. I was lucky enough to have a simple enough system and set of apps where we could define the extent of the issue and it didn't change much on us. If the original poster's company is going to the expense of a DR site and testing it's defintely worth the time to review the restore logs for the specific CPF message that shows up when the logical tries to be restored without it's physical. There's a similar issue that can occur where a journal/file dependency can occur on a restore... can't remember the specifics on that one, though. I'm sure someone might chime in on that one... e-tech@xxxxxxx (Rick Aguiar) Sent by: To midrange-l-bounce Midrange Systems Technical s@xxxxxxxxxxxx Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc 12/16/2005 02:21 PM Subject Re: Disaster Recovery test scenario Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> I agree... I've also seen in practice where two restores are done without even a validation step as there are know PF/LF issues with names and the files go down correct on the second pass... Sure for small systems this is OK... for those of use running mulitple TB host this is not an easy decision or process.... -- E-Tech@xxxxxxx -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. _____________________________________________________________________________ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
