Start with a DATE Data Type on the iSeries and then select Convert CCSID 
65535 in the properties for the .dtf

Seems to work for me - at least the spreadsheet has the date formatting in 
there when I open it.

Dates into Excel






Anyone found a way of getting a file off of an iSeries (using Client 
Access Data Transfer) and into Excel with the date fields correctly 
configured in Excel as dates.

At the moment, I'm having to do Format -> Cell in Excel to get it to 
recognise them as dates.
