I've been running a V5R3 partition 'under' V5R2 for about six months
without any problem. A similar situation to you. I don't know specifics
but I think I would make sure that you are current on your V5R2 machine -

Any known gotchas to upgrade 1 partition (development/testing) to V5r3,
and leave production partition at V5R2? They want to see 5.3 run ok
for week or two. I know compiles at 5.3 need to be *prv to run on 5.2
We do a lot of ftp between boxes.
