I just saw one of those messages in a security context.I was testing that I knew how to block access to some stuff by creating a test user, then trying to do banned stuff to see what would happen, such as using the ATTENTION (PC Escape Key) in BPCS and I got a nice error message with asterisk in front that the test sign on did not have access to the attention key.
Does anyone have any suggestions for generating an analyzable message? I'm referring to the msgs that have a '*' next to them and you can put the cursor on it and press F14 to go into the system Problem Analysis routines. The hardware is pretty much internal, so I'd rather not do things like unplugging a tape drive from the card while the system is on. Besides hardware erorrs, what other types of errors will generate this type of message? -mark -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
