Rob,

According to the help it does, but it also mentions "for IBM messages." A
simple test confirms that a user defined message doesn't seem to have the
same power.

CRTMSGF QTEMP/MSGF

MRGMSGF FROMMSGF(QCPFMSG) +
        TOMSGF(QTEMP/MSGF) +
        SELECT(CPF9898)

CHGMSGD MSGID(CPF9898) +
        MSGF(QTEMP/TEST) +
        LOGPRB(*YES)

SNDPGMMSG MSGID(CPF9898) MSGF(QTEMP/TEST) +
             MSGDTA('Testing the WRKPRB function') +
             TOMSGQ(*SYSOPR) MSGTYPE(*DIAG)

This generated the msg in QSYSOPR, but does not show the '*' to the left
of the msg. Any other ideas on how to force this type of msg? TIA.

Just a wag, but does the LOGPRB(*YES) on ADDMSGD have anything to do with
it?
