Make sure that your Ethernet lind has the correct value for duplex.
Don't use the default of *AUTO.  Set it to *FULL, or *HALF to match your
network correctly.

I think I've mentioned this once or twice before in connection with other
issues, but never really heard anything useful about it.

Would anybody happen to know why a "slim" 170 running V4R4 would take an
absurdly long time to send something to another system by scripted FTP? It
seems like the bottleneck occurs when the other system's FTP server is
initially contacted.
