By "job log" do you mean QHST? I would scan through that looking for all CPF1124 (Job started) messages that reference QINTER and CPF1164 (Job completed) messages that have a matching job number/user/name. As an alternative, you could modify your users INLPGM to log the time they sign on and then create a wrapper for the SIGNOFF command to log the time they sign off. I've done this in the past without any problems.
