Both times it took many hours to correct. I experienced this same kind of problem recently. Had to restore the LIC and spent about 2 hours going through each PTF and find its pre- and co-reqs and getting them on so we could IPL and have the PTFs that it required be permanenly applied. It was a mess. The weird part was the installation "appeared" to have gone fine. It warned about the pre-reqs. Made me do a GO PTF #8 a second time with *NONE as the device to apply the other PTFs before the 2nd IPL. When the IPL was done, no one could sign on, including the console. Got a CPF function check message occurred during sign-on processing. That had IBM scratching their heads because my problem wasn't exactly like the problems they had seen before. So we ended up down the LIC restore route and hours and hours later I was finally done at my client. This was on a small i5 520 with a twinax console. ---------------------- Scott Scott A.
