You'd have to think about what type of shop you have. As someonen else mentioned, if you're an RPG shop, then starting out with RPG may be the best road. I'm still selling quite a few eRPG books to this day! I also have the eRPG SDK (www.erpgsdk.com) which is similar to CGIDEV2, just a different twist on things offering what I feel is more flowing code, and better performance.
