I am trying to create a build of Xerces on the iSeries (V5R3). When I run the runConfigure script as indicated on their website (http://xml.apache.org/xerces-c/build-other.html#iSeries) I get a number of errors from the sed utility along the lines of: sed: 001-2271 Error in file "s/^\([a-zA-Z0-9_]*_cv_ ..." on line 1: error with regular expression: \( \) or ( ) imbalance.. I have tracked down the sed command in question - it is in the Xerces configure script and reads : sed -n -e 's/^\([a-zA-Z0-9_]*_cv_[a-zA-Z0-9_]*\)=\(.*\)/\1=${\1=\2}/p' When run from the command line the same error occurs but there does not appear to be a mismatch between parentheses that I can see... I have tried running the same sed command on AIX and it works fine so I am wondering if this is a problem with sed in OS400 QSHELL? Has anyone managed to build Xerces on the iSeries?
