I do this often to eliminate duplicate records. E.g., you could put select distinct * from somefile into a QMQRY. Then run strqmqry thisqry output(*outfile) outfile(somefile) outmbr(*first *replace) Note that "somefile" is the same file in both the select and in the outfile.
