When I had a need to do what you need to do, we would just submit the save 21 with the 'prompt for commands' parameter set to 'Y'. You've got to be present for each step of the save to submit the corresponding command (endsbs, savsys, savlib, savdlo, sav), and this will take a few extra minutes, but then you can skip the final step of starting the controlling subsystem. I would like to do a "go save 21" (Save entire system). The wrinkle is, I need to leave the system in a restricted state when this finishes. Would the best way of doing this be to change QMNSRBND to not do a STRSBS QCTL? Is there another way? If I modify QMNSRBND would I need to rename the program in QSYS and move the modified program to QSYS temporarily? Any other ideas? Thanks for any help. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. _____________________________________________________________________________ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
