Make sure you remove all indexes from at least the target PF before you

the copy.  If the indexes are there, then the system is going to try to
rebuild each index over each logical file over each record you add....

copy.

Remove all indexes/logicals first and then do the copy and then do
rebuild
them again.

Hi All,

 

What is the quickest way to copy a PF from one source to another?  I
have two physical files that are about 2.5 - 3.5 million records that I
would like to copy.  However, if I do the standard cpyf command, it
takes hours to copy the files.

 

Is there any easy (and quick!) way to do this operation that won't tie
up my server (and my time) for hours?
