Dave,

One trick I use fairly effectively is to connect the 3570 but then vary on and try to use the 3995. Of course this will fail miserably because the 3995 ain't there but the process seems to convince the system that it needs to re-examine the SCSI bus and it finds the 3570.

I have a 2749 card on an 820 that had an optical library device (9335)
attached to it. I am now trying to plug in a 3570 tape drive to the 2749
but can not get the system to recognize the tape drive. It still thinks
the resource attached is the 9335, and shows it as not operational. How
do I get the system to recognize and use the 3570 tape drive? I have
autoconfigure set to yes and have ipl'd but no difference.
