Why don't you vary off the 9335 and delete the drive and try again ??? I'm not sure, but you may need to do this with the 820 down....and reattach the drive and power up. What does the manual say ??? Did you look at the manuals ??? http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/index.htm?info/rzame/rzame820.htm#HDRRZAME820 Dave Snyder wrote:
I have a 2749 card on an 820 that had an optical library device (9335) attached to it. I am now trying to plug in a 3570 tape drive to the 2749 but can not get the system to recognize the tape drive. It still thinks the resource attached is the 9335, and shows it as not operational. How do I get the system to recognize and use the 3570 tape drive? I have autoconfigure set to yes and have ipl'd but no difference. Dave - resent for fat fingering
