Many times the interface needs to be restarted and you might even find the Ethernet line description in a RCYPND or RCYCNL state. Use NETSTAT, option 1 to work with the interfaces. Try option 10 to end the interface and option 9 to start it again. You can also check the status of the line using WRKCFGSTS *LIN *ELAN. If its status is RCY___ (or maybe FAILED) you will have to vary off and back on the line and then start the interfaces again. ---------------------- Scott Scott A. Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> restarted router, lost all c/a signon screens. A client just called, and he doesn't have any idea who to call, or how to fix it. He has an iSeries and a small LAN. The network uses a SMC EZSwitch 16 port switch. One of the users lost connectivity to the network, so he unplugged and re plugged the switch, to reset it. Since then the network works fine, excepting for the iSeries. No one in the office is able to get a sign on screen with Client Access. I can dial into a modem, which goes to a D-Link router, then to the switch, and then the iSeries, and that works jut fine. --------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.martinvt.com --------------------------------- -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
