I did try the lamp test last night.  There's no way you can see that 
attention light on with the cover in place.  And you can only see it on 
with the cover off if the lighting in the room is perfect.  They royally 
messed up the covers on the 570's.  I can't open that CD unless I torque 
on the cover at the same time.
