uh oh... I am feeling like I asked a question badly, or that what I want to
do is just a wish that will never be.

Does anyone know if it is even possible to print a box or line with an
external print file to an inkjet PC printer?

"Kinda 'slow'" is a relative term in this situation. I am hoping there is
a solution that will work on most current installed printers, from desktop
inkjets to high speed LAN printers. It doesn't seem like a ridiculous
request.

I tried *AFPDS and got the job log entry (2), "The file contains only blank
records, graphics, bar codes, or intelligent printer data stream (IPDS)
transparent data."

The printer is a H/P PSC 750 xi inkjet autoconfigured as a 3812, model 1.

I don't think most people are noticing that you said
"INKJET" printer and not LASER printer.

That would be interesting to see if it would work.

Just compile the print file with *AFPDS and give it a
twirl....

Just don't tell it to auto rotate or any of
those other laser kind of things....

This is where the autoconfig feature might be a
"gotcha".

I'm sure you realize that it is gonna be kinda "slow" drawing
a box and then putting somthing in that box with a "spray & pray".
